Worth Stock, Event
What a day for a free rock fest? Hot sunny day with no rain, heading up north I-29 from Kansas City,
Bill Scantlin called his brother to get the inside on the traffic report. Bill was advised to take Tiffany
Springs exit and circle underneath then head back south on the outer road toward Worth Harley
Davidson due to the traffic jam as if the football game just let out on Tiffany Springs. We watching
the huge crowd grow in numbers for the City’s biggest grand opening of the year. We were thanking
our lucky stars we drove the 4 wheel drive jeep so we could park off the road in an open field next to
the dealership. Worth Harley Davidson held up its name as being the third largest Harley Davidson
dealership with their massive showroom floor. We were met by our host Jason Williamson who was
bubbling over with enthusiasm and hospitality. Jason led Pat and Bill Scantlin, along with Christina
Cook through the Service Department where a VIP hospitality section was set up serving cold
beverages. For those of you that have never been VIP at a concert, just imagine media, security and
your favorite musician being upfront, close and personal making the musician personality their fame.
There was AJ, Johnny Dare, Bob and Moose with
98.9 The Rock providing the musicians a warm
welcome to Kansas City. 98.9 The Rock was a great
choice in hosting the show.
On the other side of wall, was the stage were the
performance of each entertainer brought a crowd
creating a rock fest at Worth Harley Davidson. Saturday attendance generated approximately 20,000
fans were as Friday night attendance as at 7,000. Being this was first year for Worth Stock, the
security was outstanding, not only were they pleasantly friendly when checking wrist bands but there
was a true sense of uniformity.
In meeting Mark Valentine the promoter, we had the opportunity in getting his interview. Mark
Valentine offered some of the best advise to promoters and musicians regarding creating a successful
show; “It’s all about how to getting butts in seats”. We also had the opportunity in meeting the owner
of Worth Harley Davidson Rick Worth, although he was one guy against a nest egg of fires; you
would have never known it. Rick Worth did a fabulous job in making Worth Stock what it was a Fan
Favorite Free Concert.
The special spice added in the show was the Flaunt Girls, although we did not get the opportunity to
interview them; it was fun to watch them perform on stage. The Flaunt Girls turned up the heat
with a sexy flirtatious dance that had guys whistling
and wives hitting. One of the Flaunt Girls was an ex
arena cheerleader that brought crowd pleasing show.
We hope that the flaunt girls will allow us to interview
them at the next show for an inside scoop.
When Jackyl took the stage the crowd went wild as
always. The outstanding performance will not be
forgotten by the fans. Jesse Dupree vocals bring
Southern Rock to its knees with a unique sound that is
inspirational to young artist.
Leaving the event was a challenge for a few, as one truck was stuck in the field and had to be towed.
Driving in a maze full of cars and fans added more flavor to the event leaving a deep satisfaction of
attending a Rock Concert.
Thank you Worth Harley Davidson, we look forward to future Worth Stock Concerts.
