Contestant: Siobhan Allgood
The story of Siobhan is her testimony to success from a difficult childhood and created a role model for children who are or where in similar situations.  Divorce is a common part of life these days however we fail to see what divorce can do to children and the effects a decision can have.  Some people, like Siobhan, success comes from ambition to overcome a difficult beginning and wanting to live.

Siobhan's parents made the decision to divorce and her mother fell into the divorce depression being unable to recover and treated her depression with a common disease known as alcoholism.  Growing up Siobhan had to learn how to care for herself which included cooking.  Starting out her cooking career, Siobhan called it "Killing Chickens", she went through the phase of overcooking, undercooking, over seasoning and not
enough seasoning to build a pallet that would later be used on Hell’s Kitchen as a contestant.  Siobhan story was not how bad she had it when her parents divorces, her story is the passion for cooking she gained.

Getting into Hell’s Kitchen was not as easy as one would think, as Siobhan explained the process is quite lengthy and very personal.  Prior to getting approval to being on the show, you go through a full background check, medical check and a get to know you phase that included what you didn’t want mom and dad to find out about, Fox knows about.  With approximately 82 cameras around, you are guaranteed no privacy and having no visibility in the edits they made; you definitely have to keep yourself in check as to what you want on air.

Being the skeptic like many fans are, you always wonder if they are acting or if this is for real.  Siobhan explained that the show is reality, the characters are hand picked so that personalities clash and tempers flare.  Even after the show, they either stay in touch with one another or they still have personal issues with one of the contestants.  It was obvious to see who clashed with who on the show.  Hell’s Kitchen not only tested the contestants on personality conflicts they encounter, which is a life lesson itself, but also they test the contestants on their abilities.  Siobhan believes the key to success on the show is flying under the radar, good knowledge, skill and technique execution.  With the egg incident on Hell’s Kitchen, Siobhan regrets the mistake of not doing the assignment as instructed.

Chef Ramsay's devilish ways of making the contestants cry and temper flaring is a remarkable approach to cooking boot camp.  Putting in the  element of quick thinking, confronting your worst fear, irate customers and making a person think twice prior to sending up a dish is a genius way of making or breaking a cook.  For the cooks that do succeed through Chef Ramsay's Hell’s Kitchen or take the life lessons learned from the kitchen, grow to something more then what they thought they could accomplish.  Siobhan is promoting herself and networking in creating a cookbook to her cuisine of Asian based food.  Her dreams in cooking grew from the one show that put her through a kitchen from hell.

Maybe it was Siobhan's pallet that created that unique sandwich Ben did not want to put up or maybe it was conflict in characters that caused an issue.  It was unmistakable that it was Siobhan's sandwich that should have went up in the challenge.  Who knows maybe one day we will see that sandwich in her cook book.
