Special guest “Rikets”, hosted by Stratgazer Entertainmentat, makes their appearance Aftershock. Rikets being an industrial / rock / metal style participated in the System of Freak Tour show with Blue Felix and Mary Magdalan. Rikets was a great combination for that show at Aftershock. Rikets, coming from Oklahoma, recorded their first album in 2006. The members are Scott (vocals), Provo (guitar), Nick (guitar), Timmy (Drums) and Michael (Bass).
How did Rikets get their name? They described their band name as being the decline of civilization and the ever worst disease crippling until the end. Sound scary for a band name? Whether their band name meaning is scary or not, Rikets is very personable band with a strong stage presence. Each of the band members have a lot of history behind the scene with the bands they played with, bands they opened for and how they meet.
Rikets offered some of the best advice to younger bands: “Don’t think it is going to come to you” and “Bring the total package”. Their further advice to young bands is, “paying for a good recording,” it is about quality when trying promote your band. Rikets reminds the local artist not to make the venue owners mad. The advice given by Rikets is definitely worth a second thought.
