In watching Hell’s Kitchen you can’t help but wonder if Fran was in over her head. Fran’s character portrayed as struggling to keep her position in Hell’s Kitchen due to inconsistencies in the kitchen. On her final appearance, Fran stood on the chopping block with a photo of her father in her back pocket. Her hopes and dreams of wanting the black jacket went up in flames.
The lifetime movie "Brooklyn" that is in the making is about a fifteen year old girl that walked in her father’s footsteps. One can only imagine the memory Fran had when her father began her first cooking lesson. Fran’s father’s catering business was not only her school but also a treasured moment in her life. After twelve years of working with her father she took an executive chef position. It was an honor for Fran when Hell’s Kitchen called her to be on the show.
Cooking boot camp began on the first day of arrival. The show is an opportunity for the grand prize but is also an opportunity to gain knowledge. The chef’s abilities to cook are at the mercy of Chef Ramsay’s expectations. On air mistakes are pointed out frequently, making the appearance to weak links in the kitchen. It is easy for one to question the abilities of the cooks on the show. The character you did not see is Fran’s abilities as a cook and her personality.
Fran’s team spirit and outstanding performance was shown when she severely burned her hand. The severity of the burn was not recognized until the end of the dinning service. Behind the scenes Fran’s relationship with the cooks became life long friendships. Fran walked away from the show with the only regret of not turning around for a goodbye. Fran and Nilka, discovering they live only a few minutes away from each other, found a partnership in which they work together at times.
Fran’s knowledge in the kitchen is beyond what one would expect. Catering Creations is owned by Fran Klier. Her business caters for corporate events, parties, weddings and more. During the interview Fran announced her recent challenge. Catering Creations was hired to cater an event with 6700 people on the guest list. The popularity of the Fox show most certainly has open new doors for Fran Klier. The only character that customers will see is Fran Klier catering excellent food.
Even if Fran did not make it to the black jacket level, her achievements and performance would make her father proud. Fran lost her father ten years ago but he still remains her inspiration in the art of cooking. With her father’s knowledge and her ambition to grow Chef Fran Klier’s talents might be in the next cook book or served at your event.
