Blue Felix is one of the craziest bands that rolled through
Kansas City. When Blue Felix takes the stage, you have to
wonder if they act in movies like Mad Max, Night of the
Living Dead or a Stephen King version of Jack the Riper,
then add in character names as Toxsick Tripp (Vocalist),
Rellim (Guitarist), Grimm (Bass), Y-Bot (Synth/Sounds),
N Eyes C (Drums) and X-Hail (Guitarist). When meeting
the band, you would never know their inner personality
they have about living life to the fullest.
Blue Felix promotes a positive message of being who you are and speaking the truth that bond to you forever. They took advice from a wise man who told them, “You only have one life to live, take advantage of it.” Although their appearance may be “R” rated, they promote a powerful message to fans.
Their costumes, well as one would expect, they normally dress that way without the make-up. With their homemade clothing design, one could call them an outcast but what better way to represent who they are. Their clothing speaks out about freedom, taking chances and facing fears. The make-up was a developmental project that started with mascara and paper, then a joke with a snowball affect. The painting is for the entertainment purpose, to add character to the show. They paint up for the one kid that sits in the car awaiting the show painting up his face. The enjoyment of seeing fans showing up with a face paint replication of their favorite band member; gives them a reason to stay on tour.
As care free artist, I don’t think they could ever have any embarrassing moments. Toxsick Tripp swing from the rafters upside down, he admitted to falling, breaking a water pipe, breaking a light and cleaning the dust bunnies. Grimm had a fantastic knee slide during one performance but truly it was a fall causing him to hit is nose on a monitor and hurt his ankle. Grimm shouldn’t be any more talented to pull off a fall with the appearance of a knee slide. Even N Eyes C had a story of being a little too toasted, falling over during a set. The risk they take on stage being energetic and imaginative it will be the craziest memorable show that you attended.
Blue Felix style of music is driven from the weirdest influence; generally band members have the same musician in common. Not these cats, their favorites cover everything from Johnny Cash, to Steve Ray Van to Lamb of God. Their individual influence created a band that may have the yelling, thrash sound but majority of the songs are vocals with a rock/metal style. Blue Felix wanted the fans to understand the words they are singing so they could relate to it. Their lyrics are written not only from life experience, fears, emotions but all aspects that hit home.
Fan Question “Do you have any crazy fan stories?”
At one particular show the temperature outside was ten below zero and fans were waiting in line outside in buttless chaps letting it all hang out from the backside. That is fan dedication.
Blue Felix will remain on the System of Freaks Tour until July 4th, although they will be playing a few more shows in July, they made plans to take two weeks off and starting up another tour in August. Stratgazer Entertainment has requested for Blue Felix return to Kansas City for another show at Aftershock in Merriam Kansas. That date is still to be determined for this fall.
