Jimmy, admitting to his inability to read movie titles correctly, gave them the name Amadius. Sorry Jimmy, the secrets out. Thank goodness Amadius happens to be Mozarts middle name, saving grace for Jimmy to worm his way into a cool story behind the band name.
The one and only band that would describe their music as being "Music that rocks the soul that leads you into inspiration." Their music is an enjoyable musical rock sound with a powerful performance. This would also be the first I heard a band describe their musical influence as "Music, I just love it." Their musical influences is similar to others from Lamb of God, Sevendust, Metallica and yes even Michael Jackson.
Amadius consist of Jimmy Blecher (lead vocals, guitar), Justin Shoemaker (guitar), Sylvia Niccum (vocals), Aaron Deffenbaugh (bass) and Andrew Flexter (drums). The band is from right here in Kansas City, Missouri. The lyrics are written from perseverance that life offers. The life experience we have gone through with the heart and about God. One of my favorite songs they play is "Shedding Tears" as it expresses the emotion that we all feel at one point or another. The band like many others, struggled to find the right direction and members the past several years but appear to have the right mix as they are making an impact in the Kansas City music scene.
One of the more interesting facts about this band is Jimmy's audition in Season Eight of American Idol and made it through round three. Jimmy and his wife also sold everything they owned and moved in with his parents for two years to pursue their music dream. The dedication the band members contribute and the sacrifices they make to create Amadius is often forgotten or not recognized by the fans. With Amadius competing in the California Dream contest and being the second runner up, this has open new doors for them thanks to Stratgazer Entertainment. Amadius recently opened for Ardor at Aftershock.
Their embarrassment moment on stage made Amadius realize they wanted to play one more show. It’s strange how things like that happen. Justin was jumping off the drum set and landed on the power switch turning it in the off position. Needless to say, they lost power. For some bands this might have been a sign to quite but for Amadius they got up and said "That was cool let’s do that again."
Fan Question "If any, what changes would you like to see in the Kansas City music scene?"
More fans to come out and enjoying the music. With all the technology at home, people forget to live life and get out and experience first hand the thump of the bass, the sound of a hand gliding down the guitar neck, the vocals that give you goose bumps and the beat of the drums. Fans come out and experience the one thing that made you fall in love with music to begin with.
Amadius' future goal is to make it on a tour and to play of all places, Rockfest in Kansas City, Missouri. Amadius can be found at www.amadiusmusic.com .
